Sunday Update – 2021.09.18

This blog post is a participant of The Sunday Post, a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It is a chance to share news. This post recaps the past week, showcases books and things I have received, and shares news about what is coming up for the week on my blog.

A lot has happened these past couple of weeks. I’ve been really laser focused in working on book 3. I’ve had this massive burst of motivation writing the third book in the Plainclothes Tootsie series, and I didn’t want anything to distract me from that. I’m still leaning on “The Collector” as the title from the way things are happening in the story.

I got my content edits for book 2 back from the editor, and I have been spending a good amount of my time revising that book. A lot of the story is being changed and/or rewritten in order to fix some logic issues and character motivations. My manuscript was bleeding by the time I got it back. But I like that. I’m the type of writer that likes messy, marked-up manuscripts, because I really want to make this book the very best it can be. I’m halfway through the revisions, and the wordcount is nearing 80k. This is definitely one of the longest books I’ve written in a long time.

Yesterday, I did an interview with a book blogger, Midnight Ace Book Bar! We discussed The Arrangement, and other fun things! Check out the full interview here.

I’m exploring the idea of doing hardback versions of my Tootsie books. Mainly for libraries, but I think I may offer them for retail, too. A lot of authors have been talking about hardbacks, and I’ve always loved them, so it will be added to a future goal.

  • Sometimes you just have to set everything else aside and concentrate hard on ONE THING to actually get everything done. It’s weird the way that works.

Yeah. I wish I had more time in the day to do everything I want to do. There are so many books I want to write. I wish I was like some of these authors who write several books a month. I need that productivity superpower so badly. lol
