February is here! We survived the first month in 2021. This week has been great for me. I got a letter in the mail welcoming me into the Private Eye Writers of America. The letter was in the form of their quarterly newsletter, which was pretty neat. The Member News section mentioned some new book releases that I want to check out. Yay for more books to read!
I got to listen to the first audiobook chapter of Tootsie’s story, and I loved it! I am so excited at what Dani had done to bring the character to life. She captured Tootsie’s youth, spunk, and carefree attitude perfectly. I plan to have her narrate all of my subsequent Tootsie books, as well.
The first paperback proof copy came in the mail, and I am in love. I designed and formatted everything myself, and I really love the way it came out. The book is mass-market paperback size with soft, fluffy groundwood paper. I will add pics in my next round-up post, once the official preorder announcement has been made later in the week. Readers will be in for a treat. I have been reaching out to interested readers, reviewers, and book bloggers, and I will be sending out review copies once the rest of the books arrive, which will hopefully be next week.
I’ve begun uploading the ebook to retailer sites and put it on preorder. I plan to make a preorder announcement blog post sometime next week. I’ve just been waiting until all of the links were there. I was hoping I could get the paperback link too, but it looks like it’s taking longer than expected. The audiobook won’t be ready until later. I am planning for the book to release March 9th.
The weather has been cold a few days, warm on other days, and rainy. It can’t seem to make up its mind. I’ve slowly been doing some Konmari-style organization and cleaning around the house as springtime looms. It’s been a good way for me to refresh my brain from writing overwhelm on some days.
